Who are we?

NATSURE (through our wholly-owned Guardrisk Cell Captive arrangement) and Aviation Loyd's coverholder is a niche, specialist short term insurance business that operates mainly through Underwriting Management Agencies (UMAs).

We have been in business for more than 40 years, having been established in 1968 as the niche short term insurance subsidiary of Saambou Holdings Limited, exclusively providing cover for homeowner properties. In 2003 the business was privately acquired and comprehensively reorganised and repositioned as a niche insurance group specialising in the scientific underwriting of carefully selected risks and operating exclusively through Underwriting Management Agencies.

Through our actuarial approach to underwriting, our culture of partnerships as well as our focus on innovation and client service, we have established ourselves as a profitable and reputable market leader in each of our chosen niche markets.

All business conducted through our wholly-owned Guardrisk Cell Captive arrangement has an AA rating from Global Credit Ratings.

Reinsurance is actively used in various different ways to optimise our risk management ability and capacity. Our approach to reinsurance is again one of creating a sustainable long term partnership with each of the reinsurers that we use. All of our reinsurance partners have a credit rating of A- or better.
